OCBC Users Receive $400-$600 Enhanced COL Payout Early

Some OCBC customers in Singapore have reportedly received their Enhanced Cost-of-Living (COL) Special Payment ahead of the official payout date of September 9, 2026.

Reports shared online indicate that eligible recipients began seeing the government payment credited to their OCBC bank accounts on September 7—two days earlier than expected.

$400 to $600 COL Payment for Eligible Singaporeans

The Enhanced COL Special Payment is part of Singapore’s Budget 2026 measures designed to provide additional support for citizens facing rising living expenses.

According to Singapore’s Ministry of Finance, more than 2.4 million Singaporeans are expected to receive payments ranging from $400 to $600.

The payment amount varies depending on an individual’s income and residential circumstances.

OCBC Customers Report Early Payments

Screenshots and comments shared on social media reportedly showed several OCBC account holders receiving the payment as early as September 7.

Some users reported receiving $500, while others said they had received the maximum $600 payment.

At the time of the reports, there were no widespread indications that customers of other major banks, including DBS/POSB and UOB, had received their payments.

However, the official payment schedule remains September 9, and the timing at which funds appear in individual bank accounts may vary.

Who Is Eligible for the Enhanced COL Payment?

To qualify for the payment, recipients must generally meet the following conditions:

  • Be a Singapore citizen residing in Singapore.
  • Be aged 21 or above in 2026.
  • Own no more than one property.
  • Have an Assessable Income of up to $100,000 for the Year of Assessment 2025.

The Annual Value of an individual’s residence is also considered when determining the amount of support they receive.

How to Check Your COL Payment

Eligible Singaporeans do not need to submit a separate application for the Enhanced COL Special Payment.

They can check their eligibility and payment details through the official GovBenefits website using Singpass.

The Ministry of Finance had also encouraged eligible citizens to link their NRIC to PayNow by August 30 to facilitate payment by September 9.

Bottom Line

While September 9 remains the officially announced payout date, some OCBC customers have reportedly received their $400-$600 Enhanced COL Special Payment early. Other eligible Singaporeans should check their registered payment method and official GovBenefits account for updates on their payment status.
